Koleksi Gambar : Sinabung Mula Mengganas Selepas 400 Tahun

Sejak era Toba hingga Krakatau dan Tambora,
gunung-gunung Indonesia selalu memberi kejutan pada dunia.
Gunung Sinabung ialah sebuah gunung stratovolkano
yang terdapat di Kabupaten Karo, pulau Sumatera, Indonesia.
Gunung Sinabung mempunyai ketinggian 2,451 meter
lantas menjadikan ianya puncak tertinggi di Sumatera Utara.
Kebanyakan gunung berapi di Indonesia berpunca di Lingkaran Sunda,
dicipta oleh subduksi Plat India di bawah Plat Indo-Australia.
Lingkaran ini bersempadan pada utara-timur-laut Kepulauan Andaman.
Gunung berapi ini telah lama tidak aktif dengan letusan terakhir berlaku pada tahun 1600.
Namun pada tahun 2010, gunung berapa ini telah mula menunjukkan
yang ianya akan bangkit dari tidur dengan letusan dan gempa-gempa kecil.
Tanggal 4 Januari 2014, lebih dari 26,000 penduduk sekitar terpaksa dipindahkan selepas menunjukkan tanda-tanda letusan yang lebih besar bakal berlaku..
