A singer tomb nearly 3,000-year-old woman

CAIRO - A singer tomb nearly 3,000-year-old woman in the Valley of the Royal Egyptian archaeologists found Switzerland, according to Minister of Ancient Items, Mohammed Ibrahim, yesterday.

The team from the University of Basel Switzerland, headed by Pauline Elena Grothe and Susanne Bickel, accidentally found the tomb is located in Karnak, near Luxor.

It is understood through the writings on wooden plaques found in the tomb, Nehmes Bastet, was a singer for the supreme deity Amon Ra during the 22nd Dynasty (945-712 BC).

Nehmes is also the daughter of High Priest of Amon, said Ibrahim.

The discovery is important because the display of the Royal Valley is also used as the burial place of normal individuals and the monks at the time of the dynasty, and until now, all the graves found in the historic valley has to do with ancient Egyptian royal family.
